Bee is for Bruny

parnella-8810

A recent addition to the growing Bruny Island gourmet trail is the Bruny Island branch of “The Honey Pot”, located on the main road just south of Great Bay.

According to The Honey Pot’s web site:

The Honey Pot is the shopfront of Tasiliquid Gold, the apiary business of Graham, Jacky and Natalie Wright. We’ve been keeping bees for over 25 years in apiary sites around Southern Tasmania.

We have about 700 hives, and our bees collect a variety of nectar from different floral sources. We take the bees to Lake Pedder, to Bruny Island, and to the Huon and Derwent Valleys, where they collect Leatherwood and Bush, Prickly Box and Manuka Honey.

We extract and package all our own honey ourselves at our facilities in Judbury, Tasmania. We attend Salamanca market every Saturday and The Hobart Farmers Market every Sunday, and also sell our products at Agfest, and The Taste of The Huon.

There are some truly delicious offerings here and the convenience of buying direct from the producers has the added bonus of being able to find out some significant facts about bees and honey!

Tastings are available in-store and if you can’t get to Bruny you can also find them at the Huon Valley Visitor Centre on the Huon Highway in Huonville.

You can also buy online so make a bee-line for www.thehoney-pot.com
