After a long chilly and rather dreary winter Parnella has popped out into a warmer but wetter spring.
Everything is green and lush … even us, after whipper-snippering and mowing our way through the undergrowth.
And of course the wildlife is doing its thing all around us.
New families are walking, hopping, flapping, slithering and wandering their way around our gardens.
Including this little family of native hens (Tribonyx mortierii, a native flightless rail, endemic to Tassie).
A wet day is always a great day for ducks … not so much for these little guys!
