Where the Wild Things Are!

parnella-8776Guests who stay at our cottage on Bruny Island often comment that, to their delight, they have enjoyed having the company of white wallabies in the garden during their stay.

A recent comment:

We saw penguins at the rookery on the Neck and the rangers at the rookery were trying to explain to other visitors where to find albino wallabies. We felt very smug knowing they were just in the garden at Parnella. We will definitely be coming back next time we are down this way.

The white bennetts wallaby is a genetic variant and is peculiar to the southern part of Adventure Bay on Bruny Island.

Seen in the garden yesterday was this young joey and its mum. Although we can’t guarantee that you will get a visit during your stay, it’s unusual these days not to see at least one.
